Expecting some heavy rain over night but have around 50 people coming over for lunch. Need to smoke 4 pork shoulders and 2 Chuck roasts over night for the early afternoon.
Wish my luck 🤞

We Need Your Help!
We’ve noticed that recent changes in Reddit’s algorithms have made it harder for original content (OC) communities like ours to get the visibility we used to enjoy. This shift means that posts and comments aren’t getting the attention they deserve.
By voting on and commenting on posts, you’re not only helping others but also boosting the visibility of your own posts. Your engagement is crucial, not just for r/PelletGrills, but for all the wonderful niche communities like food, crafts, art, and culture that thrive on original content. Even a simple comment like “This would fit X sub” can make a big difference.
Together, we can support and uplift our entire community. Let’s keep the positive vibes and delicious smoked meat content flowing!

Depends on the storm I would imagine but probably haha

Tbh, might be overkill as my unit is fine in the rain. If it helps you sleep at night, that’s all the more reason to do it though so don’t listen to me on that front.
Being from the upper plains, this question is one I’m both overly qualified to answer and also very biased for one reason. WIND. Our wind is unreal, if it were me in your situation I would have used a whole roll of duct tape, put bricks in places and probably parked a car on top of it to keep it from blowing away, and I still wouldn’t be sure.
I would say just plan for 20mph winds over what’s forecasted and make sure your unit is clean to avoid grease fires. This set up may get too hot with rising heat too, so be careful that the vent stack has plenty of clearance and maybe move it to the closest edge

Lock your wheels. Mine almost rolled into pool once when a wind storm popped up lol.
