hi guys I’m Laura Vitale on this episode of Laura in the kitchen I’m going to show you how to make granola bars these are my favorite granola bars because of course other ones I make to get started let’s go over the ingredients you need some old-fashioned oats a mixture of dried fruits and nuts brown sugar all-purpose flour butter cinnamon baking soda salt honey vanilla extract that’s it I promised you that these granola bars would be much easier to make than you think but first thing you wanna do is get your oven preheated to 350 second thing you want to do is take an 8×8 baking pan spray it with nonstick cooking spray and lay the bottom of parchment paper and make sure that the parchment paper is kind of coming up the sides just like that so that when we we’re done we’ll just pull them out and don’t be much easier to handle okay let’s get to making these so in small little pan like this I’m going to add the brown sugar just like that and the butter and then to that we’re going to add some honey now all I’m going to do is just squeeze some honey right in here and all the measurements for these will be on my website at laurainthekitchen.com so you can just go there and click on the recipe print it out you know do whatever you like so I’m going to do is just put some money in here that’s perfect and now I’m going to take this and bring it to the stove and I’m just going to bring this to a boil and cook it until the brown sugar melts it only takes a few minutes and then I’m going to bring it back here and I’ll show you how to put it together my brown sugar and butter mixture came up to a boil just cook for about a minute or so until the sugar dissolved to get off the stove now I’m going to add a touch of vanilla and using a heatproof spatula or a wooden spoon just mix up right in okay perfect set that aside now in this large bowl we’re going to add our oats our mixture of nuts now this is what I prefer at my granola bars which is dried cranberries raisins almonds peanuts and sunflower seeds and you can’t but you can add any mixture of dried fruits and nuts you like I don’t know walnuts hazel Brazil nuts any dried for you like dried apricots you name it this just happens to be my favorite kind that I buy already comes prepackaged for me so it makes it much much easier and now to that we’re going to add some flour and the flour is kind of going to help bind everything together and now I’m just going to use a little risk here to make sure it all these are mixed well now go in to add my wet mixture and I’m just going to go ahead and mix this whole thing up until it’s well distributed through my dry ingredients now looks perfect I’m just going to put all of this into my prepared pan get it all out make sure you kind of get everything nice and level and now these are going to go into your preheated oven for about 25 to 30 minutes and after that you’re going to let them cool completely it’ll take about three hours before we’re ready to cut into them and eat them my granola bar is baked for about 30 minutes and I let them cool completely they’ll take about three hours and now they’re ready to be cut insert now I’m just going to take a little knife and just go around the edges making sure everything is nice and loose and then see those little handles there they help lift them right out it looks perfect now I’m just going to take a big knife and cut right into them look at that they look really awesome they’re like in-between chewy when I crisp on the top and only try one all right Oh God there’s so much better to make than your own because you can add whatever you like to these we can add any mixture of nuts of dry fruits you like throw them customize them to your palate I definitely suggest that in the new kitchen making a batteries because they are really really good I’m going to wrap this up take to work tomorrow I’ll see you next time today if this recipe another’s double wwr in addition the farm is where they’re at let’s see you next time bye

  1. can you recommend a good brand of parchment paper please? I've tried twice, it's delicious but always sticks! 🙁
I guess I'm either doing something wrong or I'm using a bad paper.
    Thank you!

  2. Dear Laura why do u add baking soda ? can it be omitted ? will it change the bar ?..
i did make them the same way as you ..but i am a bit skeptical to add the soda in such a good recipe .please respond .
    thanks ..your fan .neiha

  3. Thanks for all your videos. How can I make these crunchy? I figured cooking them longer would just burn them. Any suggestions?

  4. Your recipe is very good…but Pls do not heat honey..its not good as per ayurveda, as when its heated ..honey produces toxins/Armor in the body.
Use jaggary(instead of sugar)or half of both & clarified butter (ghee) instead of butter.
And jaggary will bind eveything together and you don't need to add flour.

  5. YUMiiiiii…LOOK….SO ..YUMiiiii…decent I will try..to do it…thank you…l9ve your chan el..happy Friday..blessings..💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖👌👌👌👌👌👌🙏

  6. Can one use vegetable oil or Olive oil instead of butter? Olive oil has a distinct smell, not sure if that will be best.

  7. These granola bars are too sweet for taste. How can I cut sugars? I added less honey but these was not much glue to stick every thing together.

  8. The best part of her videos is when she eats the goods, that just seals it for me and I'm straight in the kitchen! 🤭 💖
