  1. Many Asian markets have this in their frozen section. H mart, galleria, 99 ranch, mitsuwa. Check em out!

Edit: as others said, this is very easy to make, I do it all the time. Can get all these ingredients at an Asian market, sorry for no measurements, but I just do it till the taste is right

    1. Thin sliced fatty beef for shabu

    2. 1/4 to 1/2 sweet onion depending on how much your like onion

    3. Soy sauce (not a crazy amount, for color and taste)

    4. Mirin (little splash, maybe 2tsp

    5. Brown sugar

    6. A sprinkle of handashi soup stock(if using dry) or a splash of premade dashi stock

    7. Water

    8. Egg (optional)

In a pan, cook onions in a little oil until just starting to turn color. Add beef. Cook for a min or two just to get it up to heat and soft. Add all liquids and sugar/dashi. Reduce heat and let simmer for 5-8 min. In a separate bowl, whisk egg. Pour egg over the whole thing. Agitate slightly, to let egg settle and cook. Pour the whole fucking thing over a bowl of rice. Pluses for pickled ginger and togarashi spice on top.

    Cheers

You can find them at basically any Asian market, every specialty store near where I live (Ktown) has them in the freezer section.

That being, they’re really fuckin gross and I don’t know why anyone would want to eat them. TJs frozen stuff is better and cheaper

  3. Shmacoby

Weee! Asian delivery app always has them

I see it at Nijiya or the Marukai Market in Little Tokyo. But I’ve seen it in Korean markets and Mitsuwa too. But not all of them carry Yoshinoya specifically, although all have some kind of frozen gyu don meat.

Tokyo Central in Gardena is where I bought them before, but they are like $5-6 each now

  6. NomoNumbaSixteen

Also try making your own. This is a baseline recipe for most Japanese meals.

I love them but they’re overpriced

Asian markets. You could also use Weee, it’s like Amazon for Asian food.

They taste pretty close to the restaurant, but they get pretty expensive though.

You’re better off going to the restaurant and using a mailer coupon. Yoshinoya is one of the few fast food spots still giving out good coupons in times like this.

I want to learn how to make the sauce they flavor the beef with, then I could use my own beef

  13. ThereCanOnlyBeOnce

I’ve seen them at 99 ranch, h-mart, and tokyo central in their freezer section.

Asian markets. It’s close in taste to getting it from actual yoshinoya. I buy these for lunch at work.

  15. JahMusicMan

They have them at Marukai market in West LA.

Source: I’ve gotten them a few times.
