This year is my first time growing “jalapeños” from seed and they look very suspicious. I was googling Ferry Morse jalapeño seeds this morning and found out there was a scandal in 2023 when the seeds got swapped around – some jalapeños ended up being banana peppers! I also was growing Anaheim chili peppers (or so I thought) and they too look like banana peppers 🤦🏾♀️ – who can I complain to? Is this issue continuing in 2024? Where can I buy safe jalapeño seeds? 😩

The smaller brand you buy, the more likely it is to be safe.
Alternatively, may I suggest the Hungarian Black? It is a great jalapeno analog that is not only beautiful and ornamental, but has a richer, fruitier flavor. I stopped growing Jalapenos and started growing these years ago and never looked back.
