I sure hope this hot sauce is going to actually dehydrate. Looks like I’m making spicy leathers instead

My end game here is to turn these hot af Elijah’s Xtreme ghost pepper sauces into a powder that I will use as a coating for spicy peanuts. It’s only been 3 hours so far. I am hoping it all dries out before bedtime in 4 hours.

I bought a butt ton of those sauces for cheap at an outlet store near me. The best buy date is this month and they’re so hot that I can’t possibly use my 6 remaining bottles in a reasonable time, especially with all the other sauces I’d like to use as well. I figure I’ll turn them into a powder and find a way to use them.

You’d probably have to freeze dry it to make hot sauce into powder, too much extra stuff in there. Spicy leathers would be cool though

Honestly I’d just buy a spicy powder rather than trying to dehydrate a sauce.

What I did was peel off the sheets and place them on the wire rack directly. Hopefully, this will increase airflow and speed up the drying.

Looks like it put the lotion on its skin

This is a fun experiment! Will you post a follow-up?
