Hi folks, today isn’t a good day.
Right this morning I was admiring my Habanero (chocolate and red) and Carolina Reaper plants, the first ones I grew (not from seed, but they were very small), all of which turned out extremely well, despite being grown on a balcony, in small pots and having to endure wave after wave of aphids. I also tried the first ripe Haba Chocolate. Spicy and delicious. This afternoon I went out and in half an hour it went from unpleasantly sunny to hailstorm to just cloudy, and it hit hard. My plants aren’t dead, but they got hit hard and a lot of unripe chilis fell, as well with branches and leaves. We’re here to cry for the suffering the got, hope they’ll get better and still carry tasty and fiery peppers but mostly to find together a good way to use green habanero fruits in some recipes that will valorise them being unripe.
Rest In Heat, my beloved
(edit. they probably had it worse than my roommates’ cactus and shoe, anyway I ended up having a meltdown over it, it was a stressful half an hour and coming back home to see that was the icing on the burnt cake)
