No malice, but isn’t spaghetti with meatballs basically this Abruzzese dish?

I’ve not seen the video but I guess it shows chitarrine alla teramana. Yes, they’re similar to spaghetti with meatballs. People draw the difference between something like this and some other spaghetti with meatballs we see online when the meatballs become very huge, something that in Italy would more often being eaten on its own.

My Sicilian grandmother always made spaghetti in meatball sauce. She made them with large meatballs.

She has never dealt with people in the US or other countries.

    So there are two possibilities:

    – She simply “invented” the dish out of necessity (after all, it’s not that it’s such a difficult dish that you can’t reinvent it)

    – The online story that the dish is not Italian is fake news.

She died a few years ago so I cannot ask her.

Online they say that in reality the traditional dish uses small meatballs, but my grandmother made them very large (and she was Sicilian not from Abruzzo).

I, who was born and raised in Piedmont, couldn’t say what the reality is, I only know that it is a dish that is at least part of my family’s tradition (a family that has never been to the US).

it’s the logic behind the dish that is wrong, if you eat spaghetti with meatballs what do you eat after, more meat?

    Fruit?

And where do you find the time to eat calmly and relax if you have to eat in two seconds?
