First time for beef ribs. Bought beef chuck short ribs – sliced. Have only done pork prior. I was going to dry rub and smoke tomorrow. Anyway, can cook this as planned, or should I save this for another recipe?

Flanken beef ribs. Great with a marinade and grilled hot and fast over flame. My go to is Japanese bbq served with some pickled veg over sticky rice

To be honest with you I like to marinate them in Japanese BBQ or Korean BBQ for a hour and cook over hot coals get a good sear and pull and rest for 5 minutes in the oven.

Almost made this mistake myself a few times at Costco. Marinate these and cook them directly over charcoal, Korean short rib style. Very delicious.

You can still smoke them but they won’t take long and there’s a big risk of drying them out. They’re flanken cut, so you can search for that term and find alternative recipes – most will either be braises or grilling over direct heat (e.g. Korean galbi)

Put some Dale’s on it for about 10 mins. Throw em on the grill and call it a day.

I marinate these in brown sugar soy sauce garlic and then slow smoke for a few hours until 200. Eat them with sliced jalapeños. They get a bark and fall apart and are so smoky and fucking delicious I looove these

They’re too thin to smoke. Grill them with whatever marinade you like. I suggest Korean BBQ sauces like kalbi or bulgolgi

If you don’t want to go the marinade route you can grill them until they get a good color on them wrap them up light in foil and let the cook until they are almost meat butter

Marinate them in teriyaki and grill. Delish 😘

Marinate for 24 hours and grill hot and fast. Best way to eat kalbi ribs.

This Brazilian butcher I used to live near had these killer marinated flankens. The burps were stanky af but they were so good

Marinate in a bit of soy sauce, apple juice, apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar, black pepper, cracked red pepper 👌 overnight is best, but when in a pinch I’ve had luck adding about a tablespoon of brown sugar to the marinade and short cutting the absorption of natural sugars in the juice. Hot and fast, just like we like em.

Oh buddy you are in for a treat! Everyone suggesting asian marinades and they are awesome. I’ll throw out that you could also do a Mexican one. I like a little achiote paste, orange juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, and garlic. marinate them and then throw them on the grill. Grab some tortillas and go to town.

I hope you end up learning that this was no mistake. Flanken cut ribs are so easy and so yummy

Ask for the plate of beef ribs.

Also called cross cut beef ribs. They’re ubiquitous in Argentina

That’s delicious as Korean bbq meat. Hot and fast with a kbbq sauce or even just some dipping dish with a sweet tangy marinade to dip it

Marinate in Bachan Japanese BBQ Sauce over night and cook hot and fast on the grill.

Teriyaki sauce and s grill is what you need. These are a staple of Hawaiian food. My mom (who was born there) would make these all the time. You can pan fry them too.

You can still smoke these bad boys just takes way less time. I’ve taken a larger roast and split it into 2 thinner slices so it wouldn’t take as long. Worked perfect. Or by all means you can grill them like other people say or somewhere in between

These look like tablitas to me. Grill them hot and fast.

  22. AMornCupOfJoe

Those are tablitas baby. Fajita seasoning and grill hot and fast. Underrated BBQ

Also vote for bulgogi marinade and grill hot/fast. Cook more sauce on as you go.

  24. Honestly, I prefer this L.A. Galbi short ribs over beef ribs! These are amazing with that Galbi marinade.
