Those of us that don’t want our veggies to be steamed.

To prevent steaming I skewer the veggies whole cook them on the grill grates then chop up afterwards.

    Your grates are upside-down….

    But it really doesn’t matter.

    Looks good!

not the same but works in a pinch or if you don’t have the deck real estate.

But how are you going ensure that your cooking surface gets covered by mouse shit and piss the 29 days a month you have it just sitting outside

Ha no one does and sometimes when I light up the grill and want to cook something like a blackstone would, I break out the cast iron skillet and it works great.

That said I’ve really enjoyed my blackstone since I got it on Father’s Day, I’ve made a lot of good food on it. It will never replace my grill and that is not what I wanted it for. For me it’s just another tool to enjoy cooking on. I don’t find it to be a substitute for a grill at all. But since I’ve gotten it I’ve done hibachi style stir fry, fajitas, smash burgers, egg and sausage McMuffins (that actually taste good), pancakes, breakfast steak and eggs and hash browns and all kinds of stuff.

It’s not a grill, and will never fill that space for me. But it’s a great tool to cook with.

I bought a pizza steel for my oven that didn’t work out….now I use it all the time to get a sear especially on steaks and fresh garden sides. I do have a black stone but never unboxed it….gas grill is just so easy to fire up.

Exactly, easier to keep clean than a Blackstone and I make pizzas on it too.

I use a combo of skewers and the OXO grill pan, absolutely no need for a griddle surface.

If you want a flat top, use your CI pan on the grill or side burner.
