Hey guys, I just set up my KJIII delivered from a BBQguys.com 4th of July sale. After setting it up, I noticed some small hairline cracks on the inner ceramic and got a little sad. These look very superficial and from what I’ve read, it sounds like this is fairly common during manufacturing and delivery. Is this worth putting in a warranty claim?! Should I be worried? Will this go away after an initial burn or should I try to reglaze somehow?!
I’m a kamado newbie so appreciate all answers. Thank you in advance!!

Replace dat!
I would. The cracks will never get better and you will always notice them. For the price of a new KJIII I would want it pristine before I started cooking in it.
I’d get a new bowl
That’s not a warranty claim, that’s send me a new damn grill pronto! You don’t want any cracks in your ceramic.
Send it back. Don’t settle for cracked products.
Those cracks will definitely spread. My classic 3 arrived like that and i contacted Amazon right away and they processed a return. A representative from their trillion dollar company literally called me back within the hour to start the process. If you contact kj/masterbuilt, you’ll wait days or a week+.
Turn it into a big red keg after they send you a replacement!
So sorry. I know it’s like Christmas when they show up, but that’s gonna age like milk.
Unacceptable
Replace immediately!
Send it back asap
I work at an ex kamado Joe retailer. SEND IT BACK!
The seller should replace this TBH. Cracks in both bottom and top parts indicate it probably had a drop or something during transport.
If they replace it without taking back the old one, give it to someone you like. There’s a chance that with some hight heat cement they can get a good run out of it. As a buyer you shouldn’t be patching it up, you are entitled to a new unit.
Thanks everyone! I’ll suck it up and get a replacement grill sent immediately 😢
