you guys know how much we love crockpot meals around here they’re so perfect in the summer too because then you don’t have to heat up your entire kitchen which is wonderful because y’all know it’s hot outside and we don’t need it to be hot in here too tonight we’re having a Crockpot meal that is so crazy easy it only takes a couple of hours so it’s one of those just really convenient ones and a lot of times it’s our clean out the fridge meal because I often buy bell peppers and I have really good intentions I have meal that we’re going to make or I am going to add them to my eggs and then I look at them and I think H these really need to be used so these are this is the recipe this is the one okay we love this one all right so I’m just going to cut these Peppers I’m going to cut this into slices this over here and then as we finish cutting I’ll just toss them straight in there with sausage and peppers you can use any kind that you want so you use use Peppers use onions you can use pork sausage uh you can use chicken sausage that’s what we’re going to be using is a chicken sausage the reason I’m going for chicken sausage tonight is the type that it is it doesn’t have certain ingredients that my son cannot have also with the chicken sausage it’s a little bit lower in fat so just depending on how the rest of our day has gone and what we’ve eaten during the day sometimes I’ll opt for chicken sausage instead just because of the fat content tell me as I’m ch popping these up what is your what’s that meal that you make when you just need something so easy you’re kind of cleaning out the fridge maybe whatever you know that kind of scenario my husband and I were talking about this the other night okay so we are walking through our budget which is something we do pretty regularly just to kind of evaluate what you know what what are we spending our money on and y’all eating out is so expensive it’s so expensive and if I’m being honest like I try and keep things really positive here you guys know that but a lot of times when we go out especially when we’re going with the kids we’re dropping 50 plus dollar and the food is not that good so there are several restaurants that we love in this area but I mean some just aren’t that great and it’s man it stings when you spend a good amount of money and the food’s just not that good so my husband and I have been talking about what are those few standard meals that are super super easy to put together that we can just have on hand when you know we don’t we don’t I don’t really want to cook I don’t really feel like it but we could throw it together rather than going out and spending $50 with our kids on a meal I’m going to add these Alfresco chicken sausages these are the sweet Italian ones and this brand has worked really well for our family because it doesn’t have it doesn’t have fillers and my son just can’t have a lot of the stuff that they put in sausage so I’m going to add these in and I think they’re actually fully cooked already yeah they’re already fully cooked so it’s really just a reheat but I found that you can leave them in here for a couple of hours too and they taste completely fine they’re good they don’t get overdone or anything like that now I’m going to keep this crazy easy we’re going to add a little bit of oil here this is avocado oil I’m going to toss in some salt obviously you can add pepper as well I’m going to add some onion powder because didn’t add any onion and I love adding oregano here I think the flavor of oregano in this is so good we like a lot of flavor so you could always tone that down a bit okay just toss that around um I get this question a lot about why I don’t add liquid to my crock pot all the time you don’t have to so I don’t this this will make its own liquid I mean there’s already water in bell peppers just based on how they are so I don’t feel the need to add extra liquid in a lot of the recipes that we make so I’m just going to add in these sausages and then for dinner tonight I’ll make some rice or something like that to go on the side and we can just serve this well hello come on there we go we can just serve this over rice it’s so easy and so convenient I’m probably going to cook this for about I’m going to do low it’s 220 right now I’m going to cook this on low till about 5 5:30 so 3 hours or so I mean it really doesn’t take very long at all and if you wanted to cook this on high it would easily be done in an hour [Music] this is one of those mindless meals I don’t have to think about this I don’t have to work hard at this but I know that my family is going to have a good meal on the table that night and I didn’t have to put a ton of effort into it and it’s going to be delicious it’s nutritious it’s hearty it’s colorful it’s got great flavor it’s a winner in our book every time today is the perfect day for a crock poot meal we are actually changing up our Homeschool Room and doing sit stand desks my kids just prefer to stand honestly when they’re doing their school work so I think that’s going to happen a lot I prefer to stand quite a bit so we’re putting three new desks in there so I’m going to be working in the extremely hot Garage on staining all the things that we’re going to need for the desks so it’s the perfect day for a Crockpot meal because I am not going to want to come inside later and figure this out okay I’m going to want dinner to just be ready to go now this is a good option because it’s one of those really short crockpot meals so if you’re short on time you can still do it 2 to 2 and 1/2 hours maybe three just depending on how much stuff you have in yours or how many people you’re feeding but it’s a roseal pasta you just dump it all in there and it’s ready to go at dinner this recipe actually might be one of those that you’ve avoided in the past because of the dreaded cleanup of your crock pot you know like the cheese melting and sticking to the sides and you’re soaking it for a day and a half and then you’re scrubbing it for a day and a half I get it but not today this recipe is going to please everybody’s taste buds and we’re going to use the these Crock-Pot liners right here these are the centus slow cooker liners they are BPA free they fit slow cooker from 3 to 8 quarts and they can withstand temperatures up to 400° all you have to do is take one out of the box open it up put it in your crock pot dump all the food in then when dinner is done all you have to do is throw this away and wipe out your crock poot there’s no sticky mess there’s no crazy Gunk all over it or burnt on cheese you guys know a lot of the stuff that I make in a crockpot is Easy Clean because I don’t use a ton of cream of soups and cheeses and stuff like that but for a recipe like this you really need it all right so we’re going to take our liner and just put that into the crock poot this is my larger of the two crockpots that I have also if you are interested in getting these you can get them on Amazon and they’re actually going to be cheaper for the Amazon Prime two-day thing going on the 16th and the 17th they are going to be $111.99 so grab them then while you can I’ll have a link in the description box so that you can grab them as well now obviously this is Rotel pasta so we are starting with a can of well this is an off brand of Rotel this is the Harris teer brand but it’s diced tomatoes with green chilies we’re going to dump the whole thing in I’m not going to drain these okay the whole thing now this is a recipe that you can get pretty creative with just depending on your family’s likes and dislikes I’m going to use a half2 cup of milk and then we’re going to add 1/2 cup of bone broth just use chicken broth if that’s your preference and now I’m going to check this periodically because we may need a little bit more liquid um probably I would assume if we need any more liquid it’ll be you know what I’m going to go ahead and just add a little bit more I’m going to add a little bit more liquid here I’m going to add another 1/2 cup so let’s do 1 cup of the broth half a cup of milk we’re going to start with that like I said if we feel if I come in here and I check it and I’m like woo that pasta really absorbed the water then we’ll add more later no big deal and then you guys will know the exact measurements because I’ll tell you at the end so get creative with this recipe you can add onions you can add peppers I went ahead really quickly and threw in two garlic cloves and a couple of red and green little tiny baby Peppers off of our garden and just use the food processor portion of my blender to blend these up not blend them but chop them up really fine I’m going to dump that in here too just to add additional flavor obviously you can hand chop these you do not have to um put these in a food processor it’s just that was easy to do and it took me seconds and I already needed to do that with the garlic anyway oh you can smell the garlic all right so all that goes in this is 16 oz or one lb of pasta and I’m think I’m going to wait to add the cheese we are going to be adding some American cheese um you can use valvita for this if you prefer but I’m going to use American this is probably a four PB cuz I think I ordered yeah I ordered a half pound we’ve eaten about a half pound so I’m doing about a 4 pound of American cheese and then we’re also going to be adding some shredded cheddar cheese shredded cheddar cheese that I have right here but I think I’m going to wait and add the cheese so that it can kind of melt at the end we let everything else kind of work together at this point I also already cooked up some ground beef all I did was over on the stove top sauté it up I added a little bit of salt and pepper we always cook our ground beef with salt and pepper just to make sure that it has really good flavor so we can dump that whole thing [Music] in Okay so we’ve got all of that stirred together now I’m going to put my lid on cook this on low for about 2 hours I think that’s about what it’s going to to take the noodles to cook and then we’ll throw in the cheese and make it a nice cheesy [Music] pasta we’re right around 2 hours I have a couple ounces of the Cary gold cheddar cheese here that I’m going to toss in and then we’re also going to add in that American cheese like I said you can feel free to use Vita if that’s your preference we’re just going to stir this in and let it melt the pasta is nice and alen T we don’t want it to get gummy so we don’t want it to sit in there too long mix all this together oh by the way when it was cooking I did add another um half2 cup of bone broth and I still feel like it might need another little bit so let’s just do that let’s add a touch more so then that puts us at right around a cup and a half of bone broth and 1/2 cup of milk all right let’s just let that cheese melt and then I I think we’re pretty much ready all right so I topped it with a little bit of green onion it really only took about 5 6 minutes for the cheese to melt now depending on what type of cheese you make yours could be a different color obviously because different cheeses different color so we are just over 2 hours from making this the noodles are soft but I don’t feel like they’re overdone I do think that maybe 30 more minutes and you’d be headed that direction though it’s very reminiscent of a hamburger helper or something like that OB obviously made in the crock pot super simple I didn’t have to babysit it or anything like that but good flavors I like the addition of the Rotel because it does add a little bit of additional flavor in there that we personally really enjoy we just finished dinner and now it’s time to get everything cleaned up and if you take a look in this crock poot this is not something I would really want to clean we’re going to make it really easy okay ta there’s no leaking no mess all that I need now is a simple wipe down of the insert I mean look at it it’s it’s basically clean at this point check the link in my description box I will have the link to these slow cooker liners by cenus and don’t forget on July 16th and 17th for Amazon Prime days they’re going to be even lower in price so you want to grab them quick if you’ve been here for a while you know how much we love Greek flavors we are making a slow cooker Greek chicken that we’re going to put inside of pasas now mine’s going to be a little different because we’re actually heading up to the mountains so we have a friend that has a mountain place and they let us rent it for so cheap so cheap so we love going up there especially during the summer months because we can escape the heat for a little bit and just be up there in the beautiful mountains rather than me taking all of the ingredients in a cooler I’m going to go ahead and make up the stuff that we need for these recipes so for the Greek chicken you would be putting everything into your crock pot I’m going to be putting it into this container right here this is just going to go with us we are starting with some Greek yogurt and I’m going to add about a cup here to this container We’ll add some minced garlic so you guys are going to see me actually make this in a different place because we won’t be here we’ll be at the mountains got some lemon juice We’ll add some of that just about 2 tblspoon a little bit of salt here I like to add a little bit of onion powder and I feel like oregano is a must and we probably go a little heavy on the oregano with these flavors okay now I’m going to try and mix all this together now when we go to put this in the crock pot I’m only going to be using about a third of this in the crock pot to cook the chicken in okay so we’ll save some of it we’ll cut up the chicken at the end and then toss it in the rest of the sauce because it’s just really good that way to save some of it almost like a creating a sauce for it it’s just not it’s cooking in part of it but then you’re creating more of it later on that is it for that I’m also going to make some tuiki sauce because we really like it and a friend gave me a bunch of cucumbers which is awesome since we were out of town on our big trip in May I really didn’t get a chance to plant and so we don’t have any anything in our garden this year so I’m very thankful for the friend who gave me this so I’m going to make up some taziki I have that recipe on my website so you can definitely get it there but I’m just going to do a really quick version of it right here so you can see it okay this is where the cheese Shredder really comes in handy I’m going to come on I’m going to shred this up I don’t I don’t think I need the whole thing might as well now because this is going to be sitting for a little while before we actually eat it I’m going to press the water out of the Cucumbers I otherwise the the water will just end up setting all at the top of the sauce and I pulled off quite a bit of the liquid there let’s add in some garlic I always add in garlic when I make this I also like to add in a little bit of oregano I know that’s not traditional but I think it’s good we just add it in some salt this I know this is super fast guys I’ve made this so many times everything that I do here is by looks now because I’ve done this so many times a little bit of lemon a little bit of avocado oil some grape yogurt oh I got to open another one we we are never in short supply of Greek yogurt oh also I’ve had several of you ask if I’ve ever made Greek yogurt and yes I’ve actually done it several times it’s so convenient and easy to just pick this up but yes start mixing I’m probably should have done this in a little bit bigger of a bowl but that’s okay red wine vinegar is an absolute must for this I mean it makes all the difference at least a tablespoon and then Dill you have to have Dill I mean Dill is what takes this over the top and I use quite a bit which is why I took the Shaker top off because oh there’s a stem in there um because we really like dough okay did I forget anything I don’t think I did I mean you can add pepper you can add whatever you add whatever you love to this and that’s ready to go so both of those things now rather than taking all of the ingredients we’ve got two things that can just go into the cooler and they’ll be ready to go I’ve already got the chicken diced up this is one PB of chicken thighs and you remember the sauce that we made we’re going to add about a third to that that’s a little more than a third add that in give it a good stir and really cook this on low for about 5 hours or high for 3 to 4 hours I’m going to start on low but I think we’ll end up moving it up to high just based on the time that it is and then we will move from there the Greek chicken has been cooking for about I want to say 3 hours or so it’s I think it’s ready but I would like to pull out some of the liquid I’m turning this to keep warm and then after that liquid’s out we’re going to dump in the rest of the sauce that we had reserved and just let it come up to temperature so we’re really not cooking it anymore at this point we just need to get rid of the extra liquid that’s in the crock pot I don’t even know if going to use all of this that’s quite a bit but let’s take some and mix that chicken in there I’m not really trying to shred the chicken so I’m trying to not I’m trying to not shred it to be honest just kind of tossing it a little bit and we’re just going to let that warm through while I make the potatoes I’m making some potatoes to go along with this on the side um basically I’m just cooking them in some bone broth and some olive oil salt and pepper really simple I didn’t bring a bunch of stuff up here but that’s what we had to cook them and so just a little bit of sauce here which is a very similar taste to the taziki so they’ll work really well [Music] together all right I know this is a really weird camera angle but where we are this is the best we can do so obviously if we were at home we would add some parsley or something like that to the top to add some color cuz it is very khaki SL white it is and chalula oh yeah you would definitely add chalula all right let’s let’s taste it though crock poot meal that I rarely had to do anything to I like these kind of wraps if that’s what you call them what do you call these things Peter bread it’s nice and fresh um emptying out the liquid out of the crock pot and then mixing it again in that sauce I think really helps because you don’t want it to be like what’s the word watery that’s not what we’re looking for here we’ve also got some roasted potatoes we’re about to add those to the plate and then we’re going to serve this up and eat it’s a good travel meal though yeah definitely a good travel meal because of the elements crockpot what feta cheese pre-made toiki yeah I made that at home yeah our verse today comes from John 16:33 in the world you will have tribulation but take heart I have overcome the world I hope you enjoyed today’s video if you’re new here I would love if you would subscribe and stick around hit that Yay! Happy to see you, Amber!
New to your channel 😊 I love watching ❤
I'm here for all the crockpot recipes. We made a recipe like the rotel pasta this week and added a taco packet.
Right off the bat…s&p, winner, winner. Sooooo darn easy. Easier than so many people's fav 🍝 and meatballs.
Serious question…where are you All eating for $50? Shoot, my husband and I spend close to that and that's w/o drinks or desserts. 😅
Eating out was a rare thing for my husband and me. We just preferred what I cooked at home as it was cheaper and tasted so much better
Everything looked delicious Amber! You need to give us a tour of your mountain home ❤
My family LOVES sausage, peppers and onion sandwiches. We add a little tomato sauce and grated cheese on our hoagie rolls. OH SO GOOD!
Hi Amber! Need to be frank – I feel like you tell us what we COULD be using in the recipes you make as opposed to what you used, throughout your recipes. We come to your channel to watch you make recipes that you and your family enjoy. If you’re always telling us how we can change the recipes, it just creates decision fatigue. Stick with it; be bold 🦾
I have never liked Crock Pot meals because they always seemed water logged. Then I saw that you don't add extra liquid. I tried your method, and it's a game changer. That was all I needed. Thanks you
Excellent Video!
I agree about eating out. It used to be "somewhat affordable" Not since 2021 in my opinion. And the quality is horrible. My husband and I have eaten out probably 3 times this year. I'd rather meal prep, do freezer meals or just something quick but homemade after work. You recipies look delicious as always!
For me it’s pasta with a red sauce and I’m not really talking about spaghetti.
I take one large can of cento Mariano. The can plus a can of water. If u want to first sautee your veggies from fridge (fridge clean out) onions and garlic if u have. Add meat if u want (breakfast sausage or hamburger. Whatever.
Throw in the tomatoes and cook for 10 mins. Take an immersion blender and blend (even with meat). Pour over cooked pasta. Tastes like cooked all day.
Regarding the dry crockpot; it serves as an incredible roaster without liquid. A fav of ours is doing a full dry seasoned chicken. No liquid. Its incredible.
All the crockpot meal recipe looks delicious Amber so happy to see you.
I've got a huge package of stadium brats. Do you think those would be good in the first recipe?
quick & easy potato, peppers & sausage skillet. A great clean out the fridge meal or a fast meal. We like all the sausages. I do not eat out because it is never good.
Looks all so delicious
I'm watching u cut the peppers from the seeds. I'm not sure if thats the wrong way what I do is turn them upside down and cut them that way n pull them apart that way
I am all about crock pot meals. I put all leftovers in the freezer as meal preps for another day. Cost effective when on a fixed income.
hi Amber great recipe video. If I need to do something quick I just do either homemade soup or pasta dinner.
quickest dinner was spaghetti and canned sauce
Our go to last minute meal is bbq shrimp and sausage (frozen shrimp and turkey keilbasa) with either rice or potatoes. We'll serve with whatever veggies we have on hand
cool
