I had posted a few days ago but people asked for more photos, so here they are.
I purchased a used Classic I a week and a half ago. When I picked it up the firebox had been removed.
Once I got it home, I watched some assembly videos (this is my first KJ and first kamado style grill). I noticed that in all the videos, when they assembled the firebox it was “loose” and the panels had to be propped up with some paper behind them.
When I went to assemble mine, I had the complete opposite problem. The firebox was so tight I had to shimmy it up the sides to create enough room for the firebox panels to fit.
This in turn, makes the firebox sit about an inch off the circular ceramic base and causes the grates to sit higher in the shell.
Is this going to create a problem? If so, how do I fix it? Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Where’s the metal ring that goes on top of your firebox?
Hey, this is the guy who told you what pictures you needed. You are missing the firebox ring. This is what’s causing your problems. https://www.kamadojoe.com/products/firebox-cover-stainless-steel
Edit: also, are you assembling this with the charcoal grate in place? If so take that out, it just sits on the already assembled firebox.
