Inflation hasn’t only raised prices on every American, it has also decreased portion sizes and most tragically, the quality of our food has plummeted.
Eating out has become an expensive, disappointing, hassle.
I bought a package of fresh lo mein noodles and without checking the traditional build, just made a mirepoix-based, chicken/zucchini lo mein. Easily enough for 2, (maybe 3) and honestly better than takeout.
Cost: about $7.

So you made a plate of noodles, chicken, and a veg.
What’s the hack?
markup at restaurants is generally around 3x. So if you were to sell your lo mein you’d have to charge $21, to not go out of business. Granted they have scale so they shouldn’t charge as much as you would, but they still need to charge atleast 3x their cost.
