I literally just slavered over my computer keyboard.
Using the spare pastry to tuck it into the corners of the tin is genius! Looks delicious!
This looks so yummy. Could you cook the filling in a slow cooker?
Is it ok to leave out the mushrooms?
I love hearing Winnie the Pooh teaching me how to cook
Yummmmm. Very nice. Thanks for the video. When I look at the ingredient list can't help but think about the different parts of the world the ingredients originally came from. We're so fortunate to live at a time in history when we have so much available. We get delicious recipes like this one!
Thank you John
Pies are one of my specialties ill probably make this filling this weekend , i make a good chicken curry pie. Thanks for sharing this video your one looks great.
I haven't even watched the video yet and I'm salivating!
My dyslexia read the title as "steak and gummie pie" interesting, but this looks better!
"This recipe looks fantastic! Do you have any tips for slicing bread evenly? I've found a good bread slicer can make a big difference."🥰
AMAZING!!
Definitely going to try and make this!
My only complaint is, why wasn't I invited to the tasting of what looks like the best pie ever. Cheers
This looks amazing and I can't wait to try it!
Good Day,
I tryed to buy one of the rolling pins, but I can't choose Germany as a destination.
why is that?
yummy i made 1 like this with ox cheek
John, you have one of the best voices I’ve ever heard! Look into doing voice over work.
I tried this and could not stand the taste of it tasted like it had sewer water in it , I then tried it without the alcohol and tasted 100% better no nasty taste or bad aftertaste.
4:34 Remember, there is no "Shit" in "Shiitake" — pronounced "shee-ee-TAH-kee" with a Western accent and "she'-TAH-kee" in a Japanese accent.
I would recommend substituting the Guinness with an Imperial Stout.
My grandson reckons that John is a better chef than Gordon Ramsey, cos we always use John's Scotch Pie recipe and video when making them for his Nana Scotland. He's nearly nine, bless him.
John your a legend. Love this pie recipe & can’t wait to make it at home in Newcastle. 👍🤍🖤🤍🖤🏆
Wait … so I just learned to make a steak Guinness pie by the voice of Winnie the Pooh ?! Fantabulous 😊!!!
Anybody else think this guy would make a perfect Winnie the Poo?
Shortcrust pastry in a food processor! This will change my life! Thank you! Love your videos.
Thank you chef for a awesome pie recipe!
Looked lovely John . Thank you for sharing, 13:53
That looks incredible. You do a wonderful job explaining and cooking. Very professional !!!!
Hi John, what a fantastic recipe! I am looking to buy a new food processor and wondered if you had any recommendations as I can't quite see the brand of the one you are using in the video. I was looking at the Kitchen Aid one but it doesn't have good reviews (as I have just recently bought a KA mixer). I am after medium sized, not huge or tiny. My last one I think a Breville lasted many many years until the plastic cracked and there are no replacements available any more in NZ or Australia and the motor finally crapped out of me too. Thanks.
Is the pie tin 11" in diameter? The video description only mentions 5" individual tins, not the one you use in the video. Thanks.
Yummmmmmmm
A tad bit of Marmite and Worcestershire Sauce would be great added to this!
Looks great. I’ve got a can of Stout waiting to be used up!
What you call Corn Flour. In North America, we call Corn Starch.
I’ll make this Sunday
Thanks for this one John! I love your video style and your narration, feels like I'm having a masterclass from a pro. I think I'll make this one for my parents this Sunday! Cheers!
+1
I followed this video and my husband said that if we wasn't already married this pie would have had him buying that ring lol even the kids liked it. Making 6 at a time took some real math work for me ❤thank you
this is like listening to pooh bear make pie 🙂 so much joy! I use a very similar recipe, just with carrots added!
I've been meaning to buy some new tins for a few months now which I have just ordered after seeing this pie and will be trying it soon as, looks amazing John as always
These pie recipes are going to ruin me this pregnancy XD
Friends, if you've not followed one of Mr. Kirkwood's recipes and made your own pie, you're missing out. I'm looking forward to trying this one like I have tried many others.
A bloody rare steak and a Guinness is absolutely amazing.❤
It looks so yummy!
Yummmmm
Oh my goodness, I am American, and make a very good pie crust. That being said, THIS is next level! I will make this for my Father and thank you, Chef John!
If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the pie tin from John (it's not detailed in the equipment used in this video section)? I've seen quite a few online but none of them have that nice edge that you can use to crimp the pie.
Off to get some stewing steak to make one of these bad boys 😋 Another great step by step video from the best on youtube hands down, JK 🍞🥖🥧🍰
