I bought one that was supposedly open boxed and not used. Looks like it was used once and they forgot to remove some packing material. It is really stuck. I haven’t tried using it, but pretty sure it would smell like burnt plastic.

Anyone seen this and know to fix it?

It might smell once and then residue would be gone. Why not try it? It’s only a stain inside. Not where any food would go.

  2. Turn it on outside for a little bit and see. Rubbing alcohol *might* remove it.

It might smell a bit but it won’t last forever. Personally, I could give a shit what it looks like inside, you hardly ever see it.

The bottom inside of MY one is about 65% that colour from foodstuff escaping/overflowing (portion control’s not my strongpoint.) and continuing to cook between the crock and the base. It’s never been a problem.

Thanks everyone. I will try the suggestions to clean and see how long the smell lasts

  6. I’d take it outside if possible and burn it off with high heat.
