That sounds about right if you are using anchovies packed in oil and not brined. They are much more mellow tasting and more like sardines than the brined little salt bombs you think of putting on pizza etc. It’s also a large recipe that calls for a full pound of pasta.
For comparison, I made NY Times’ midnight pasta recipe that calls for a 1/2 lb of pasta with a full tin of anchovies and it was about right.

Huh? Why are you assuming it’s a mistake? I found a 4.2 ounce jar and it says it’s 4 servings. So 5 ounces for 4-6 servings of pasta seems pretty reasonable to me.
