On a new Check, Please! Bay Area: Culture, tradition and innovation come together in a new episode of Check, Please! Bay Area. First, East Coast meets West Coast at LITA, where guests enjoy Caribbean-Latin staples with Miami influences, like chicken empanadas served with curried aioli. Then, in Emeryville at Simurgh Bakery & Cafe come Turkish delights featuring twists on baklava, bagels and borek, all made fresh daily. Last up, guests visit Porterhouse, a classic steakhouse nestled in San Mateo that serves up dry-aged steaks and sensational flambées.

  1. Love the show! I've been watching it for years! Would love to see at least one San Francisco restaurant in each show though. I try and make it to the outer suburbs when I have a chance, but we SF people really want to see more SF local restaurants featured! There are so many new places popping up each month. I'll still tune in regardless though 🙂

  2. I’ve known Hamdi of Porterhouse for over 40 years. I fondly remember when it was Bogie’s (on Third Ave) before he changed the name and theme. So happy to see Porterhouse getting well deserved exposure on Check Please!

  3. Happy to see Simurgh Bakery on this episode! Lovely people, delicious food. 🙏🏻
