I just purchased this kamado today. How do I do a deep cleaning on this, specially the ceramic part? Even the ceramic tiles are pretty dirty. The website says to light up charcoal and let it burn for about 20 mins. Any experience on this?

Heat it up to 500 or so and just let it go until the fire is burned out.

The ceramics don’t need to be back to their original color. Just burn any residue off.

I have noticed when using the doe Joe that the heat deflectors get very clean, even look in new conditions
The dome with the doe Joe shows 650-700 meaning the fire is a lot hotter….maybe consider a hotter burn for a few hours, then cool off???
