From left to right: sweet gold, sungold, black cherry, and the Norfolk purple tomatoes. The sweet gold were the mellowest of the bunch with low acidity and sweet. Sungold were very flavorful and more fruity with a bright, acidic bite. Black cherry are more mellow like the sweet gold but with a slight savory aftertaste. The purple tomatoes have an odd herbaceous flavor that is really pronounced when tasted in comparison to the other tomatoes. The flesh is firmer in the purple tomatoes while the skin on the sungold is the thinnest.
The purple tomato is my highest yielding followed by sungold, sweet gold, and then black cherry. I think I’ll definitely grow black cherry and sweet gold again, but I’m gonna give up on sungold since my plants always get blight and they don’t keep as well due to being prone to cracking. It’s just not worth the effort at this point when other varieties are more resistant. I wish I liked the purple tomato more, but the flavor was just a bit weird for me.

The black cherry looks amazing. The purple ones would make an awesome garnish on food.
maybe try breeding the purple with something while its still up and see what happens
