The garden space is officially done 💜I set out this year to expand the exterior garden space + update the greenhouse with paint but this extra push (thanks to all of you) to add the decorative fence and lights really made the vision come to life. I feel like I’m living in a real-life pinterest ad – SO SURREAL! Having this garden space reminds me that anything you dream is possible, if you put a little diy elbow grease into it. xx

    Installing an 'insect-hotel' would add a lot of tiny helpers to your garden !!!
    Very easy to make: a brick with holes, a bundle of straw, reed etc. …🙂

    Perfectly imperfect can often be, -perfect! Plus, it then doesn’t look sterile and blah. Instead, it’s charming, welcoming, inviting, yet loved and cared for, and as you said, looks like it’s been there a long time. Otherwise, it’s just new construction, perfectly horizontal & perfectly vertical, and perfectly, -BLAH!

    The fence is so quaint. As you were trimming the tree I just invisioned you collecting those branches for the next year and stripping off the leaves and when you get enough to make vertical pickets from the branches from your tree. I think that would continue the secret garden feel.

    The fence really makes the whole area look like a cute little farm stand you'd find that has some excellent things to buy and take home for dinner when you're on vacation in a quaint little town, if that makes sense.

    I love it and when you started lopping off branches, I thought you might take the branches and put them on the fence and have a line of rickety branches m—that could look cool.
