Very new to kamado’s … yesterday had a cook around 300/150.

Closed bottom vent, left it a while and closed top vent. Went to bed full belly of beer and food.

Now, 12hrs+ later as I go to get everything out to clean my Joe is at 250/125!?!? (Was at 200/90 when I went to bed)

How’d I put the fire out?
Is there something wrong here? (There are small gaps in the silicone around bottom vent, I’ve only had it a couple weeks).
Is it because my dome and base don’t line up perfectly? (Is a big Joe 2 and they form a tight seal).

I’m guessing as I “filled it up with new to top off the old” it’s got a full stack to burn through (doh!!!!)

Seems like the silicone sealant around your bottom vent is not air tight. Probably leaking air and therefore keeping your fire burning. I’d contact customer support if I were you.
