So, after thinking/fantasizing, and binge watching YouTube, I finally decided to attempt macarons. Excuse the filling, I think it was too thick BUT I’d love to know what you think about the shells. I’ll say that I DO feel I went a bit too far with the macronage step and am wondering is that maybe why they spread out too much after piping? I also feel I underbaked them bc they seemed wet looking in middle and they did stick to the parchment when I took them off. I was so worried they would get too brown I think so took them out too early. I’ve tried choosing pictures that really show my problems so please give me advice about what I could fix for next time. And really, what’s everyone think about those feet? I feel they went too vertical: aren’t they supposed to kind of be the same vertical as the tops? And are they horizontal enough? ALSO, I didn’t want to use artificial dyes so I didn’t color them. Can anyone recommend natural dyes that work? I’ve never used natural and want to switch to it for all baking. I WAS going to put some freeze dried strawberries into these but decided since it’s my first time I should stay safe with simple.

While they don’t look bad by any means, there are a few things to improve on.
Full disclosure, I’m no expert. But my take is that you might have piped them a little too large, hence the big spread.
Seeing as some of them has cracked, it’s also possible that they could have rested a tad bit longer before baking.
And finally they are a little undercooked, as you pointed out yourself.

Great first time! You will conquer this with time and experience! YouTube is a great start but macarons are so fussy and the videos ever show their failures. Don’t ever forget that.
