So I’m the idiot who listened to a YouTuber. Said you should do a high heat burn with the chimney stack inside the grill to clean it. Well… it totally melted the (what I assume to be) aluminum cap.

Well it works with BGE. But those are painted not seasoned..

R.I.P. Control Tower, thanks for the heads up. Been trying to clean mine tonight with soap and water. Not a nice job, may try some degreaser.

Well now you can get the stainless replacement on Amazon and be happier anyway. Much easier to sink clean than that cast part.

The Kontrol Tower’s are aluminum. The old Daisy Wheel’s are cast iron. Huge difference.

Ended up boiling mine when it got gunked up as i thought a high heat burn would damage the finish. Paint came off regardless. Happy with my results after seeing this lol!
