So I’m the idiot who listened to a YouTuber. Said you should do a high heat burn with the chimney stack inside the grill to clean it. Well… it totally melted the (what I assume to be) aluminum cap.

Well it works with BGE. But those are painted not seasoned..

R.I.P. Control Tower, thanks for the heads up. Been trying to clean mine tonight with soap and water. Not a nice job, may try some degreaser.

LOL! This only works with the daisy wheels. A+ for effort though.

Well now you can get the stainless replacement on Amazon and be happier anyway. Much easier to sink clean than that cast part.

I have thrown mine straight in the coals with no issues

The Kontrol Tower’s are aluminum. The old Daisy Wheel’s are cast iron. Huge difference.

    Sorry about the Kontrol Tower.

I’ve done a number of times without issues, but it’s always been under 450f and not many coals left

Ended up boiling mine when it got gunked up as i thought a high heat burn would damage the finish. Paint came off regardless. Happy with my results after seeing this lol!

I laughed out loud in a doctors waiting room…

People are looking at me now.
