Just peel off the outer layer. If it feels firm and not squishy you should be ok.

Moldy. Sorry friend.

You can peel the concerning layer off, and if the rest is not squishy or discoloured, you’re good to go.

It’s fine, just peel that outer layer

The onion is perfectly fine, just peel off the outer layer.

Have you never seen mold on an onion before lol? Just peel it!

This little mold will likely wash completely off, peel off the outer layer too if it doesn’t/you’re especially worried. To be safe I wouldn’t eat raw but cooked is fine.

Mold. Peel it off. Happens even when I refrigerate mine. It’s fine.

Since I’ve become more of an onion lover in the last 5 years, I know that peeling the layer off that has that on it will get rid of it all, 90% of the time. The other 10% is when it’s actually squishy and gone bad. Onions last a very long time so I’ve only thrown out one in my entire life.

You don’t even need to peel the outer layer, that kind of mold is on top of the membrane and will rinse right off, I do it all the time
