So this is weird, this pepper is probably my most mature out of all of my peppers (I have 6) it’s produced a lot of peppers and it’s still producing them quite a lot. I have 2 main issues her. 1. You can clearly see that it looks sick or it’s wilted, I couldn’t tell you why it’s doing that. I leave it outside in partial/direct sunlight all day long (I brought it inside because it’s storming bad out right now) I wanna guess and say that it’s probably overwatering, but I don’t think it’s been watered too much recently. I feel like it could also be too much sun but the sun hasn’t been out recently (also wanna mention that at night it seems to go back to normal, still looks a little wilted) 2. Why won’t my plant stop leaning like that? 😂 I’ve resorted to tying one of the plants to a stick and it seems stand up just fine. That’s all tho, any guesses?

    1. To me it looks like she’s getting too hot or maybe be root bound. Those are just suggestions from my experience. In the past when I take my indoor plants outside for real sunlight they tend to wilt like that. I would try to avoid direct sunlight.

    Do you use nutrients?

    2. She’s reaching for light that’s why she’s leaning. Or too top heavy. Staking it up is what I would do.

My thinking is that pot is too small and it’s likely pretty root bound. The leaning could be a result of that but it also is leaning towards the window which plants will do to get more sunlight. Peppers thrive in the heat so I’d recommend leaving it outside as much as possible in as much sunlight as possible. You could try even putting it in a grow bag if you can’t plant it in the ground or a bigger pot.
I’m in Zone 7a and we’ve had temps over 100 off and on since the beginning of July and my peppers have exploded, so it seems less likely to be an issue with them being outside.

Are those two plants in the same pot? Looks like two stalks to me.

This is neglect. Clearly the plant hates you.

Do you think she might need more water? I’m sure you already know, but the terracotta pots tend to actually “steal” water from the plants unless they’ve been fully saturated and if it’s been hot and/or dry in your area it might have dried out and is now doing more harm than good. Maybe put the whole plant and pot in a big bucket or basin, water it until the water line is up to the top of the pot and let it sit for a few hours.

Those are both going to die and the pep you have will probably be all you get off them
