I fully regret beating the meringue by hand, but alas, when I remembered I had an electric one, it was already at the soft peak stage…. I got lazy about washing and drying it lol. Anyways, I think I overdid the macaronage step, and piped them too close to each other, which would explain why they melted into each other and have huge feet.

I agree, I think the egg white stage could’ve been shorted just a few seconds to be runnier. I always try to equate it to what would melted marshmallow fluff look like (but mine end up darker because of the vanilla I add). I’d recommend you do one or two rows of 4 less on the sheet so if they do spread out it’s not connected to the side ones. Nonetheless they’re still a good try and probably taste great, keep trying and you’ll get better!!
