I remember I had a plate of these at Vesuvio back in the late 90s. I got really sick from food poisoning and had some mad fever dreams. I ate at an indian place just before though, and Artie Bucco insisted it was that that made me sick. It was then that I realised that Big Puss Bonpenseiro was talking to the feds. 4 dollars a pound.
There's no way this is a legit dish in a high-end restaurant. I give them props for some decent technique, but this dish needs some serious work.
