Had lunch at the new Ling Wu on its opening day in The Grove. Only ordered soup and salad, scouted out the rest of the menu for a future dinner visit. Had the Crab Meat Corn Soup and Yellowtail & Salmon Sashimi Green Mango Salad. Both pretty good, the salad has a light fish sauce dressing, I added chili oil cause it needed some heat. Cost $26 even, evidently they hadn’t programmed sales tax into the system yet, so an 8.25% discount until then. I also got a $2 side of steamed rice, added it to the leftover salad dressing and chili oil for a cheap, improvised rice dish.
One of the managers pointed out several menu items that are exclusive to the Grove location, like the True Morel Mushroom Chicken and Sautéed Celtuce. The bar has a bottle of Casino Azul Jaguar Reposado. The bartender said there’s not a price for it in the system yet. I thought it looks like an Anchorman prop that would be Sex Panther Tequila.
