Avocado mash – avocado, salt, pepper, garlic powder

Bacon vinigarette – bacon fat, olive oil, champagne vinigar (to dress the lettuce)

    Salted heirloom tomato

    Thick cut bacon

    Romaine lettuce

Toasted Seaweed Mayo (toasted nori, lemon juice, kewpie mayo)

    Buttermilk Bread

The tomato i used was dark red and ended up being the same color as the bacon so its hard to differentiate them in the photo but i’m happy with it none the less.

I’m reluctant to post to r/Sandwiches for the inevitable “WHERE BACON? MOR BACON!” comments but I am with Kenji in that a BLT is a *Tomato* sandwich and the bacon is there to accent a bit of saltiness like anchovies in Ceasar dressing, but not the star of the show.

Just an acronym fyi, much easier as a BLAT

  3. jawnafen

I prefer the term BLAMT, because it’s fun to say and we need to stop pretending that mayonnaise is not a key ingredient in a BLT

Ooohhh thanks for sharing this pic, looks delish and I needed a lunch idea for tomorrow!

I would swap the avocado for cheese and ooooooooo how delicious will that be!

Not so good for ppl with dairy intolerance, though. Then your TBLA will be almost perfect (I would replace the bacon with chicken, though)

    Yum!!!

YUM! Come on over to r/Sandwiches with this beauty.

  7. Where is the tomato? Looks like a bacon avocado sandwich

  8. Smash those avocados into guacamole, add cheese/queso, and you’ve got an LGBTQ

  9. PierreDucot

We do that, but with leftover guacamole – the LGBT. My daughter added a slice of cheese so she could call it the LGBTQ (queso), but the cheese did not add much.

I worked kitchens for years and used to set an ABC BLT as the special occasionally. 3 pieces of bread with avocado, bacon, cheddar on one side and bacon lettuce and tomato on the other.
