    Probably easier to just replace. I’d be worried about going up the calibration by cleaning too aggressively

    Some steel wool will clean it right up.

    If it’s not working you can try and recalibrate using boiling water. A bit of build up wouldn’t prevent it from working. That is pretty minimal.

    Throw it in the kamado during a high heat burn, it’ll clean right up…

    1. As another person mentioned, steel wool will do the job.

    2. Unlikely this is the reason why it’s not working properly.

    3. If it’s just showing the wrong trmp, you can probably calibrate it.

    I use one of those green scrub pads that is for cleaning dishes. A little dish soap and some hot water usually cleans my temp probes up pretty good.
