We have these pho pots from Costco. Dry weight is 165g. I'm working on the assumption that to work out the calories that I should multiply the 100g "as prepared" info by 6.45 to get 645 calories. But then what is the "per bowl" referring to?

If anyone could shed any insight it would be much appreciated 😅

It says at the bottom that ‘per bowl’ is if you just prepare it with water, whereas I’m assuming ‘as prepared’ has you adding something else to it. So the 645g is the weight after you prepare it with water.

My best guess is the ‘as prepared’ one is per 100g as weighed after you prepare it with whatever suggestions they’re giving, which may or may not end up weighing the same as if you made it with just water.

What (if anything) is it asking you to add? That might help make sense of it.

    Per 100g: 100 kcal per 100 g = 1 kcal per 1g

    Per bowl by weight: 165 g = 165 kcal

Total kcal per bowl: 283 kcal

    Sauce calories: 283 kcal – 165 kcal = 118 kcal

Water has 0 kcal and increasing volume by using water will not inflate calories to 645 kcal.

This label is very confusing. What is the product brand? Now I’m invested and want to figure it out.

There’s one by Snapdragon brand that has a much more clear label. One bowl is 280 cal, and dry weight is 76 g.

285 definitely seems low for instant noodles but pho does tend to be lighter because the noodles aren’t fried like instant ramen, etc.
