I’m new to Nespresso and so far kind of meh on it. I just brewed a 7oz Columbia and this is a lot of foam. Is this normal or is my machine off?

You need to use a narrow glass

Why would a narrow glass make a difference?

It is, the next pumps more crema that most vertuo machines

For the Vert. Machines, sadly, yes.

Love that glass

My pop produces 1/3 or less foam compared to the photo. Do you use unfiltered tap water? It would worth trying packaged/bottled water to see if it makes any difference.

It will settle, if I heat my coffee up once it’s gone

Try different water.

Vertuo line gives a lot of foam (Crema). I’m not familiar with this particular flavour you brewed and not sure if this is the expected amount exactly, but in generally they all have a thick layer of foam, which is feature of Vertuo.
I have the Original line instead which has much less foam.

No idea because my machine is new but we are Pantone twins—love the color so much and am enjoying learning how to use this machine after having been an OL user for 13+ years.

It’s fake coffee anyway.

Most people here have no clue what centrifuge brewing is. Of course it’s gonna make it foam when the brewing unit spint at 3k-7k rpm. It’s like you’re making a frappe at this point and the coffee it’s not bad it just depends what you’re doing afterwards. If you want a normal espresso the foam is fine. For everything else the foam is still fine and you just have to experiment what recipe is best for you.

My virtuo doesn’t give me any foam. I do use brita water however.

Surprised they haven’t discontinued the trash that is vertuo already, og all the way.

I sometimes get a lot of foam but it’s “just” air in the coffee, so if you let it cool there will be less foam, but it’s fun to eat with a spoon. I don’t know why some pods give A LOT and others don’t.

My Vertuo Plus doesn’t give that much foam

Love the Jar! Where did u find it and what size is it. Looking for something that fits under the pop.

Mine killed itself and they want me to pay $65 to fix it

Maybe rinse/clean your machine?

Looks like A&W Root Beer. Has that frosty mug taste.

For Columbia, this a lot of foam. I have Vertuo Next machine and have never had this much foam in any of the 7.7 oz pods (or any size pod, actually). It’s usually no more than an inch of foam. Try reaching out to Nespresso customer service. I’ve had great experience in the years I’ve had my Next.
