I️ disconnected the auger motor wire to the control board, but when I️ tried doing so with my fingers the white wires completely came out of the white connection (they got pushed out).

I️ pushed them back in but now I’m not sure how to put it together without the same thing happening again, or worse, damaging the wiring.

The left (red) connection seems to be hollow and the white wires are pins.

It’s hard to put the plastic in the other piece to begin with. Can someone steer me in the right direction here?

    We Need Your Help!

We’ve noticed that recent changes in Reddit’s algorithms have made it harder for original content (OC) communities like ours to get the visibility we used to enjoy. This shift means that posts and comments aren’t getting the attention they deserve.

Your engagement is crucial, not just for r/PelletGrills, but for all the wonderful niche communities like food, crafts, art, and culture that thrive on original content. Even a simple comment like “This would fit X sub” can make a big difference.

As a last case scenario it looks like you could just cut both harnesses off and connect the wires directly to each other…Use either black tape or a soldering iron or wire nuts to connect them and it would be good as new.

    those molex connectors suck

you kinda got to hold the loose wire from the back as you press the connectors back together and hope they seat if they’re not too bent up.

worst case, and if you have enough slack, you can cut them off, strip a bit of wire and put on some [butt connectors](https://www.amazon.com/Connectors-22-16-AWG-Waterproof-Electrical/dp/B0D5MF7735) and crimp them down. any auto parts store will have these too in smaller quantities if you dont want a hundred, but probably for more money.

can also replace the molex pins in there but without knowing what size they are its probably a bigger pain to do

Don’t ever force it! One of the pins on the more clear connector in your second photo (right one) got pushed out of the housing. You shouldn’t see any exposed metal behind the connector. There are little ears on the barrel of the pins and sockets that are supposed to hold them in the nylon plastic housings. If they get bent backwards or bent flush with the barrel, they won’t stay put.

Try some needle nose pliers to bend the little tabs back and slightly out. Look up Molex connectors to see what the pins and sockets should look like.

Use male and female spade connectors. Alternate the style of connector for each side so you can’t plug them wrong. So 1 female on the red on the right and the male on the left red. Swap them on the other set.
