I'm asking because they seem quite large for shishitos and they are also quite spicy (nothing crazy, maybe on par with a jalapeño). I grew them from seed and am wondering if they were mislabeled. We are also growing some superhots and are located in a community garden. It's definitely less spaced out than would be ideal. Could cross pollination be at play here? Thanks in advance for any input. Happy to provide additional pics if it would be helpful.

They look a little big to be shishito.

They have the shishito look but they’re like triple the usual size.
Cross pollination from your community garden would only be at play if you saved the seeds yourself. It’s possible something got crossed at the seed growers or they have been mislabeled.
My experience with shishitos is that they aren’t hot at all.
they’re about 4x the size of a Shishito, looks like cross polination may have happened from the plant these were grown from. Still save the seeds, see if it grows the same next year and then bingo, you may have a new type of Chilli 🙂
