There is also the option of giving a cat an anti-baby-pill (short term) which is what I did to not have my cat go through heat, my vet told me there is a risk of cats going into heat like chronically (if they are kept indoors to avoid pregnancy), which would be torture!

My dog is chemically castrated, which lasts 6 months. I was told it was six months and to make a decision during these six months. I was told in no uncertain terms that if I were to let him go back to his unaltered state and then go back to either another bout of chemical castration or castration-castration, it would screw up his hormones, probably forever. It could lead to all kinds of chemical imbalances, behavioural issues, coat issues, the works. I worry about what will happen to Julia now, even if they do right by her and get her done completely this time.

My apartment looks like I have a dozen cats living here and I only have one, with the many scratching posts, cat tree, my couches covered with cat blankets and cat beds, toys etc I have scattered around my apartment. I want my cat to be comfortable and enjoy life as an indoor cat. Chantal is a very sick individual and found another sick person to live with. They deserve each other and should not have any pets.

I can imagine that she is hesitant to spay her because she thinks she might want her to have kittens – if not now, then later down the line. Which would be such a bad move… with all the stray cats out there, there is no way anyone would take the kittens.
