Opened it up for the first time and saw this. There's a raised bump at the bottom of the bowl that isn't coated in glaze. Should I return it or is this no big deal? TIA

I would. If it came new like that, I’d just swap it for one without imperfections.

I’d send a complaint to the company, and not return it unless they asked. Sometimes they send out replacements based on pictures, and you end up with one in flawless condition, and this one. To me, it looks more than good enough for that I’d put it up for grabs on a local giveaway group instead of having it go to the landfill.

Yes. You paid for one in New condition, and this one has a flaw. It would piss me off when I looked at a dent that I did not impart.

Yes, it looks like that is unglazed ceramic which germs can get into. So it is potentially not safe.
