I love making things from scratch that normally wouldn’t be like this, with the homemade Nilla wafers, vanilla pudding, and Swiss meringue. It’s delicious! I took one to a 4th of July potluck, and a famously picky person whose favorite dessert is banana pudding said it was perfect. My notes are:

    * You really only need half a batch of Nilla wafers, although they’re really good on their own.

    * When making the Tahitian vanilla pudding, I added five whole cloves to steep with the vanilla pod, and that really enhanced the flavor of the bananas.

    * Under variations, she recommends adding malted butterscotch syrup. I don’t consider this optional.

    * Make sure you have a pan close enough to the 7×11″ in the recipe so you have enough pudding and meringue to cover everything. The first time I made it the closest I had was a 9×13″, and it’s definitely not as fun when it’s so spread out.

That looks so good. 🤤 Banana pudding is one of my favorites.

Is that the name of the book?
