They didn’t even have the decency to give you a big enough plank for that burger. I can’t imagine the table is easy to clean with all the grease inevitably dripping on it.

Those planks certainly do look… experienced.

    That’s one fatty smash patty

Restaurants doing this are driving me crazy. It’s so ridiculous and unsanitary. I’d ask for a plate. I’d ask them to bring the plate to my table and then I’ll move the burger onto it. I don’t trust the food going back behind the door after I complain.

I would not eat this on a board
I cannot eat this off a sword
Or from a little piggy bank
Or from a greasy wooden plank
Or from a shovel with no handle
Or a statue with a candle
    I can’t eat this from a shoe
No matter what you put it through
    This tiramisu flower-pot
So what’s it got that plates ain’t got
A staircase stacked with pizza slices
Cold and in no way entices
Or a cocktail served in brass
But with the entrée in a glass
A Ferris wheel with onion rings
    Or so many other things
    We know you’re making speedier

And since I’m paying premium rates
Please read my lips now – *we want plates!*

When you have woodware, you have to *season* it after washing it (rub it down with some olive oil and let it dry). Otherwise, it dries out, turns gray, and eventually splits… much like in this picture.

You can tell they just run those fuckers through the dishwasher lol they could at least oil them

  8. I don’t either, but I think I would take the plank over a meal that looks like a cowpie with a bun.

“Can I get a small side plank so we can share?”

My response is to eat as messily as possible, they will get tired of all the extra cleanup eventually.

I can understand serving hors d’oeuvres on a wooden plank. Anything that can be picked up and eaten in one bite without leaving a mark would be ok and maybe even more fun than a plate. But putting a main course on one is awful. That burger and fries could’ve been on a plate and still had room for ketchup and been cleaner, easier and prettier in every way.

I’m the old norm, I want normal plates

  13. I love this sub because I disagree with most of the posts. I love these more interesting methods of service. Feels like more of an experience

Greasy top bun doesn’t do it for me.

  15. Ragnar_OK

That burger does not look well cooked, even just the bits that are visible look very unevenly cooked

This looks interesting! A big burger on a preztel bun and a container of fries. Then….. they have to go and FUCKING RUIN IT by putting the burger on that nasty plank. Whose idea what this anyway?

  17. TheRealOcsiban

I really hate it when fries come in those metal tins. I don’t know why, but I just really hate it

  18. wootiown

Plank is pretty lame but that burger looks fucking fantabulous

What is a plank if not a thick, rectangular plate?
