I have never been “under portioned” like this. I think this was just a bad day. Remember Sushi Wednesdays too!!!

were the contents hidden from you? did you not have a clear line of sight? yeah, you got served, but let the buyer beware and whatnot.

btw: all hail $7 san antonio roll on wednesdays.

H-E-B has drastically decreased the portions and quality of everything. Here-Everything-Bites

I got the salmon roll a few days ago and it was as predictably uniform as always. For $6.99 I got no complaints.

I just had a $7 spicy tuna roll from HEB for lunch today and it had about three times the tuna of what you showed. Alas, I did not take a picture and it is in my belly now. I think you should raise this with a manager at your store.

They just rolled that rice right in there 😂😢

For the prices they now charge, HEB sushi is now so mid. Used to be a cheaper alternative to restaurant sushi, but now restaurant sushi is about the same price.

I still get HEB sushi every now and then for the convenience, but the prices are just too high for what they offer.

And I’m saying this as a born and raised older Central-Texan born and raised with HEB that loves that company. But their sushi prices for the quality is not adding up lately.

Eating sushi in the car is illegal in Texas

Got the salmon nigiri pieces for the Wed $7 special at the E. 7th HEB. The salmon pieces were wafer thin, definitely smaller fish portions than I’m used to from them.

I have never seen it this bad, though lately like 90% of the rolls have imitation crab meat which I hate, they used to have a bit more variety and have more tempura shrimp stuff.

Go to royal blue and try their grab and go sushi

    Better than H-E-B … it’s def pricier

Brah… you late to the game. For the last year they give .0002 fish and 99.9998 rice

Mine have been good for the locations i have gone to, but with any chain, your experience will not always be the same

I’m sorry, but that is pretty pathetic. HEB does that with a lot of stuff. There are queso in a plastic cream cheese tub is constantly underfilled, and I’m talking 20 to 30% and sometimes more. If you hold it to a light, you’ll see yourself. I complained about this on their Facebook page and sent them a message and I got a response and she said she would take this seriously and escalate to leadership and of course I never got a response back.

They have been shortchanging us for years that’s why honestly I don’t shop there anymore. And they’re very stringent on returns, even if you bought discounted stuff that goes bad immediately or that should not be on the shelf. They refused to take the money back.

All the sushi workers are contractors and each Sushi-Ya stall is its own franchise location, basically, run by Sushi Gardens in Houston. One of the Houston papers did a cool article about their history, if you’re into that stuff. Some locations are stingy AF with the fish, others actually fill their rolls. The Cedar Park store at Ronald Reagan/Whitestone is particularly skimpy on everything. Their regular rolls look like maki and the poke bowls barely fill half the container, and not just on Wednesdays.
