It’s the round 5qt from the mid 90s. Still working great – just missing a handle. I think a block of wood and machine screws will do it but maybe there’s a better way?

I don’t want to buy a new one.

Why are you repairing your rival’s crockpot?? Use this opportunity to gain the advantage!

We had one at the sales barn that someone had made two wooden handles. They had holes with a hose clamp through them and they just tightened it up. It seemed to work okay. No idea where they got a hose clamp that big.

See if you can measure the pitch of that screw (measure some length of it and count how many threads are in that length); you’ll be able to find a knob of some kind that can screw on there. Better still, if you can disassemble the pot enough to remove that screw and take it with you to the hardware store, you can probably find knob that’ll get on there.

Did the hole on the handle actually break, or did this thing just unscrew itself? If the latter, I’d again open up the crockpot from the bottom and figure out how that screw is accessed, and screw it back on.

Caution: obviously you want to unplug the pot and such if you’re gonna open the bottom, but the real hazard is how potentially gross it could be in there with mold from cleaning. Hopefully, though, the heat of use keeps it fairly sterile.
