  1. I made mashed potato bowls last night for supper. Grilled a pound of Texas Smokehouse sausage, chopped that up into ½ inch bits, stirred it through the mash along with butter and a little half-n-half, topped with pepper, then cheese, had Chef Mike Roe Wave(😁) melt the cheese, and there you go. Sausage & mash, American style. 😋

  2. Genuinely happy the wood spoon is in use!!! I have sensory issues and when people accommodate it makes my heart smile knowing how huge a positive change it can make 💜

  3. There were experiments/studies done that proved you can drink only coffee and you will get hydrated more than it's a dieretic. So i feel it can be counted as water 😊

  4. the 1st one . . . . where's the seasoning? ? ? Only flavor is Butter. At least saute some garlic with the kale

  5. I'm a bit confused, I always thought Beryl was an experienced cook..first she says she didn't expect kale to reduce so much, has she never cooked kale? Then she says tuna is surprising in mash potato..never cooked fishcakes?
And yes, The Princess and the Pea is international it was written by the Danish born, Hans Christian Anderson as long ago as 1835!
Americans make me despair sometimes..🙄 ✌🇬🇧

  6. My family is from a village in Clare, and my grandmother taught me to make Colcannon with cabbage, not kale. Different areas, different families.

  7. Beryl, I suspect your roll-up technique is failing because you're pressing with flat fingers instead of compressing with bent fingers and palms. The same thing happens with sushi, where loosely packed rice ruins the whole experience. You could actually use a sushi mat to get a stiffer potato roll.

  8. Ok so I drink black coffee too….. however because coffee is a diuretic, it technically doesn’t add to your water intake, you have to drink more water to make up for it 😂

  9. Hi Beryl ! just a little tip if you want to improve your water intake : have a tall glass of water each time you find yourself plugging another episode while shooting a vid…problem will be solved in no time ! 😉

  10. I will low-key count tea as water sometimes but technically since tea and coffee are diuretics they aren't supposed to count 😂

  11. According to the Mayo Clinic:

"Is water the only option for staying hydrated?

No. You don't need to rely only on water to meet your fluid needs. What you eat also provides a significant portion. For example, many fruits and vegetables, such as watermelon and spinach, are almost 100% water by weight.

In addition, beverages such as milk, juice and herbal teas are composed mostly of water. Even caffeinated drinks — such as coffee and soda — can contribute to your daily water intake. But go easy on sugar-sweetened drinks. Regular soda, energy or sports drinks, and other sweet drinks usually contain a lot of added sugar, which may provide more calories than needed."

  12. Just a note: let the person presenting the recipe speak. The breaking of the fourth wall and joking around is charming to a certain extent, but the Irish guy barely got to speak a full sentence before you started goofing off.

  13. Anyone who is scared of rolling the Ecuadorian dish can try causa from Peru – similar flavor profile, just done in layers in a dish

  14. 21:10 Coffee absolutely counts towards your water intake! All coffee, not just americano. Everything you drink counts, and even everything you eat that has water in it (which is almost everything, in varying amounts)! The thing about the caffeine dehydrating you is a myth. It's a slight diuretic, meaning that it will make you pee, but water will do that anyway 🙂

  15. For perkedel, you could boil that potato, not always fried. I usually boil the potato. The point is to make it soft or some kind like smash potato. I like when perkedel texture is softer.

  16. I learned about Vegeta from a previous Beryl video. I made french onion soup and just added a pinch or 2 of Vegeta to my bowl. I don't know what it is, but it does add something amazing to savory dishes.

  17. The tuna and potato fritters reminds me of the canned salmon croquettes every child in the 80s in the U.S was forced to eat. Not my thing.
