Looking to buy some Guanciale in the UK, found a place (called Marco Alimentari) offering 1.5 kg (3 lbs) for £23 (~$30)

Is this a good price for that much Guanciale or am I sure to get shite quality at that price? Food in the UK is a bit on the cheaper side tbf especially compared to the US

  1. This seems a good price but how many people do you have in your family? Because that’s a restaurant size package.

Seems about right, that’s a lot of guanciale to use at home though, I found smaller portions that look like similar quality & price here – [https://www.adimaria.co.uk/guanciale-approx-700g](https://www.adimaria.co.uk/guanciale-approx-700g) (description in link is wrong, they’re 250g packs, pretty good though, have tried theirs before)

  3. Don’t know specifically the producer, but semms to be appreciated online and the zone of production seems right.
The price is right for a retail sale in Italia. I would expect a higher price for this product abroad. But I think it’s worthed a try
Please post some pictures of the real product you receive, if you go ahead!

Depending on what you use it for, you can always cut it into portions and freeze them. When I brought back lots of pancetta and guanciale from Italy, that’s what I did with it. It keeps perfectly fine in the freezer.

One thing I’ll advise against is the 1.2/1.8kg pancetta affumicata from marcoalimentari, at least when I got it a few years ago it was very poor quality.

    $9.16/lb.

For us Americans, this imported one from Italy would be worth it.

If domestically made, same style… That would still be acceptable
