Looks like batter to cover your tomatoes then fry them up! Like fried chicken, but tomatoes. I think you still have to buy the tomatoes

Um…are you unsure of what to do? I mean its batter for Tomatoes😅.

Slice the tomatoes, dip on egg, then batter, add to hot oil, enjoy. You may need to double dip (egg, batter, egg, batter) but if you do probably use thicker tomato slices to offset the extra breading.

  4. Look up a fried green tomato recipe. Use this batter instead. You’ll probably need to test a piece to figure out the timing.

Alternatively message them on social media. I googled the name and they came up immediately on FB.

Here’s how I make fried greens:

    – Slice the tomatoes and put them in a brine (you can make a simple pickle brine or use the pickle juice from a jar you bought), let sit for at least an hour in the fridge
    – Coat in the batter, lay out on a baking sheet with parchment paper so they aren’t overlapping each other
    – Put in freezer until frozen (this will help keep the tomato together when you fry it)
    – Fry in oil until golden brown

Why not ask the person you bought it from

Just curious. How much did the flour, soda and spices cost?

Soak in milk, drain, dip flour or in the batter, dip in egg, batter again. Then fry.

You’re a sweetheart; just ignore the Smart Alecs. I think you got some great suggestions and I’m sure they will be delicious. 💞

Slice the tomatoes quarter inch! Lay them all out flat onto a paper towel. Sprinkle them with salt. Let them lay there for 20 mins to draw out all the water.

Then season butter milk with garlic salt and pepper, dip the tomatoes into the dry batter then into buttermilk, then back into dry. Shake off extra batter then put them into a shallow fry. Vegetable oil, or canola oil. Fry on each side til golden brown and salt them immediately and let them rest on paper towels to drain grease.

Being non-American, this would confuse me initially as well.

Where I am, a batter is a thick liquid. You would dip the tomato slices in flour, then into the batter and then fry.

But this appears to be dry, like a bread crumb. So dip the tomato slices in flour, then egg wash, then the crumb seasoning mix. Then I would refrigerate the crumbed slices for a short time to “set” the coating.

TIL that a dry crumb mix is called a batter in the US.

First question…do you know how to fry food???

Add water and mix to make waffle batter consistency… dry a slice of tomato on a paper towel, then dip in batter, then fry

    … yum.

Fried green tomatoes are wonderful with a deviled egg on top. 😋

    Here’s what I do.

Slice green tomatoes about 1/2 inch.

Gently press slices between two paper towels.

Set out one large plate with about a cup of flour spread on it.

Set out a second plate with your mixture.

In a bowl, beat a couple of eggs with about 1/2 cup of milk.

Heat an inch or so of oil in a skillet. It’s hot enough when a drop of water sizzles and pops.

Coat each slice with the flour, then dip in egg mixture, then coat with your seasoned mixture.

Fry the slices in batches until browned. Remove onto a plate covered in a paper towel.
