I know I am one of several people who track how many pieces of fruit per plant is yielded per season (I track weekly). I am trying to get a sense of whether these guys are producing optimally or if something in the environment needs changing. I havent grown them before so I dont have my own data to reference like I do for most of my other plants. Pretty please hoping some fellow data nerds have some yield stats!

I’m the last person who’d ever bother to actually count tomatoes….

But I *can* say that Black Cherry is always plenty productive for me (like, as much by weight per cu. ft. of cage as I’d expect from a typical hybrid cherry — say, Sungold or something) but usually *very* slow to get going as far as setting fruit. Or even flowering, actually.

Has always been one to fret about early on, but then does a lot better once it gets genuinely hot.

I track, but I’m growing in pots, which are quite suboptimal.

That said, Black Cherry was one of my heaviest producers, yielding so much fruit that, from just 2 plants, I had buckets of tomatoes, with more rotting on the vine.

On the other hand, Brad’s Atomic Grape has been very slow for me this year.

I dont track but we planted two Brad’s Atomic Grapes and we eat all we can and give away more than we eat to friends and family

They seem to take a bit to get going but then they never stop producing

Reading the replies… I’d be your guy… track and weigh every fruit per tomato plant…only one problem…I didn’t grow these this year, sorry.

It’s amazing how much insight tracking production has given me, though…big game changer.
