Hi all,
I am fairly new to the Kamado space, tho I’ve been grilling some good steaks on Green Eggs in the past!
There is an offer for a used Kamado Joe Classic 18in I near me.
What do you think would be a fair price? I had in mind around $350.
From the picture I shared with you, it looks like the insulation fiber is damaged, is it a no-go according to you?
Thanks a lot for your help – much appreciated. I’ll grill some good sausages thinking about you!

You can order the newer better gasket on Amazon that’s what I did as long as there’s no cracks 300 is fair
Missing the Divide and Conquer rack at least not in picture.
A brand new classic 1 is like $800.00 with the cheapest it ever was was about ~$500.00 (walmart iirc).
$500.00
– $50 – new gasket
– $80 – new divide and conquer
= $370
So $350 seems almost a little too fair. Maybe offer $300 but getting it at $350.00 would not be bad.
EDIT
Hmm apparently Walmart still has it in stock: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Classic-Joe-I-18-in-Charcoal-Grill-in-Red-with-Cart-Side-Shelves-Grill-Gripper-and-Ash-Tool/126810886?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0
So I would go with $300 maybe even $250.00 given you can get it brand new with like no work needed for $500.00, have a warranty, and apparently Walmart has 90 day return policy…
The missing rack is the biggest issue here. Doesnt seem well cared for either. I wouldnt offer more than $200-250
With a new one at $480 and warranty it just seems worth it. Imagine how youd feel if you paid $3-350 for the used one only to find cracks later on, or have to keep investing in new parts.
Remember buying used also means shipping and handling is on you! Not an easy feat.
I’m usually all for low balling and worst case scenario they say no, but this is just a very worn out old grill that doesn’t deserve to be sold for anything more than $50 due to no warranty, obviously TLC needed, and the worst part is, you will never know if they used cheap charcoal briquettes in it or worse lighter fluid.
