Idk but that looks illegally delicious. Where is this from?!

Epicerie has great croissants and they frequently run specials… had an amazing pistachio raspberry one earlier this year.

It’s Round Rock, but Unicorniverse always has massive filled croissants with a variety of flavors. I’m not vegan but I haven’t had a single dessert from them that was lesser than their non-vegan counterpart.

I recommend the almond croissants at Moonlight Bakery on South Lamar. They are the ones I compare all others to.

Had a chocolate croissant at Heaven’s last week and it was fantastic. Great laminated pastry and chocolate filling was delicious. I’m no rookie when comes to decent pastry and this ranked very high in my book. May not match your dream, but have nice stuff.

Heaven’s Bakery and Bistro: Parmer, east of Loop 1

  6. Looks like sfogliatelle a bit. No idea who makes anything like this though, sorry.

Unicorniverse Bakery in Round Rock has all sorts of filled croissants.

If you want a small day trip, check out La Princiere Bakery in Taylor. Authentic French bakery (French BIL approved).

Heavens bistro bakery is the best I’ve ever had.

A lot people giving their opinions on croissants but not many people actually tried every popular croissant in Austin to know for sure.

I’ve done it to save you time. It’s Heavens bistro.

It’s better than epicerie, it’s better than baguette au chocolat, it’s better than Abby Jane, it’s better than unicorniverse, it’s better than sweetish hill.

  12. Check out “Heaven’s Bistro Bakery” on Palmer. The almond croissants well all of them are extremely buttery.

Now hear me out… try the Kaya Pandan Jam Toasted Croissant at Wee’s Cozy Kitchen. This might not be what you’re looking for, but if you’ve never tried Singaporean/Malay “kaya” jam, you should check it out. It’s a coconut jam that southeast asians love 🙂

I’m currently obsessed with the ham & cheese croissant at Abby Jane

One word and one word only. Epicerie

I have to wonder if the reason this question gets asked so often here is that we just don’t have many good options for them.

I’m a snob because my boyfriend is French and I spend part time in Paris while he comes here part time and the absolute best pan chocolat is at Moonlit Bakery. The woman who owns it has French regulars that now live in Austin. We don’t buy those or croissants anywhere else.

Coming from a new dad, this turns my stomach a little!

Afuga. Two of the most amazing croissants in town, one is lemon cream, and the other is chocolate cream. They are an absolute gift to humanity.

Paperboy has amazing pastries like that

Hey! You should come out to my wife’s and i’s stand at the sfc farmers market in Sunset Valley. We do sourdough and pastries. We have a good selection of croissants on the menu. We have a twice baked masa almond croissant that’s been really popular. It’s quite unique in flavor and we use Barton springs mills buckwheat flour and it gives the croissants a more nutty and malty flavor. You can find our IG page on my page. We are R&R Bake House. Hope to give us a try! 🙂

Mannana/ South Congress hotel. the exec pastry chef is now gone but the croissants still follow how she did them. However she’s opening her own place in East Austin. Austin chronicle article said end of September I believe

Update!!! I went to La Pâtisserie and was very dissatisfied as they had hardly any selection. So then I went to Épicerie and oh my goddddd it was SO GOOD. I’ll post a little review in a sec, but thank you everyone for your recs!!! Gonna keep trying places in my search for the perfect croissant… <3
