Was really surprised by the price of these sandwiches ($27 for the #19) but they have really proved their worth. They’re really good! Am so glad I decided to check them out before leaving LA.

did they say if they were shutting down for good? they were threatening to close last week

For $27 where is the rest of that sandwich no wonder they’re shutting down

Edit: learn to make pastrami yourselves if you don’t like getting dicked down by delis who don’t even fill out the sandwiches the way they used to for far less. The meat is incredibly cheaper on its own and all you gotta do is prepare it yourself

They are not shutting. They were basically making a statement to get some publicity on the challenges with safety in the area.

Corned Beef and Pastrami Sammie is the GOAT. Fight me

  5. I know it’s expensive, but goddamn those sandwiches are good and they are pretty massive

Idk what the price is that I would stop going to Langer’s but apparently they haven’t hit it yet. Those sandos hit like nowhere else can.

27$ is a bit steep but it’s one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had.

It’s a flawless sandwich. One of the greats of the world.

This reminds me of something. 🤔🤔 I just can’t pinpoint it though….

My mom was assaulted and robbed in the alley behind Langers.

That was 30+ years ago. Guy punched her, gave her a black eye, and took her purse.

That being said, the area around Langers has never been a good area. There have always been gangs, drugs, and one time we had to hide in the back of El Piojito because there was an INS raid for undocumented people.

There have also been at least one famous police beating of a person.

I grew up in Pico/Union area but my parents used a PO Box from the USPS up the street from Langers. We used to wait for the bus right outside but we never went inside.

I feel for the guy and he’s making a stink now because he is losing money.

Business will increase for the next couple of months at least.

Don’t mean to be a contrarían, but I did come from a Mexican household. Mid

It’s really not all that. Other places have better pastrami.

I picked up a food delivery there yesterday, they were backed up on those orders 45+ minutes. Another example of social media doing it’s thing.

If you’re too scared to go to Langer’s, check out [https://daughtersdeli.com/](https://daughtersdeli.com/)
It’s owned by Norm’s daughter and they use many of the same ingredients as Langer’s. It’s still hella pricey. I’m a very frugal person but Langer’s/DD is still something I will absolutely splurge on once a year.
