I feel like TD gets way more love and hate than deserved regularly. However, I’d like to say it is a solid taco joint and hard to beat $5 margs.

I for one like taco deli, it’s a no frills taco joint that’s reasonable priced. Sure it’s not exactly the most artisan taco but that’s the point, I don’t want everything to be this gourmet $$$ place with tiny portions in this city

Count me among the fans. Are they traditional street tacos? No. Am I expecting that when I go here? Also no.

Their ingredients are fresh and sourced with that in mind. They’re not terribly expensive either. Do I wish they were more filling per taco? Yeah, but that may just be me

  3. Didn’t they recently make the Otto an all-day taco? That’s dope. I miss the adobado tacos though…

I like them. It’s consistent, the Dona is good, and the sirloin and shrimp are always good quality.

  5. High quality ingredients, consistent, very nice clean comfortable dine in spaces all at an accessible price point. Very glad to have Taco Deli in Austin.

Their bean and cheese tacos with doña are hard to beat

I’ve never seen a picture that made me want to eat there.

I think taco deli is good, just don’t understand why people try street tacos *once* and act holier than thou and cringe at anything remotely different than ordering it from a trailer off riverside.

My only quip with TD is that they also serve tacos on cold tortillas, which is a cardinal sin

I can’t stand their tortillas but they’re ok in a pinch

That top tortilla doesn’t look too bad, that bottom one is exactly why I’ve never visited them on my own accord.

Trash. Why do they serve raw tortillas? Is that a white person thing?

They are solid for most tacos but mashed potatoes in breakfast tacos is an abomination.

Taco deli is the perfect corporate visitor solution. There’s something for everyone from latinos to gringos to Indians who can’t eat meat, the food is consistently good, and the tacos have just enough authenticity to leave people from Ohio or whatever with some novelty.

If you want to feed the whole office the catering trays are 🔥 and they keep and reheat perfectly. Make sure to get extra Doña salsa, everyone is going to go for those.

I like Taco Deli very much. They make my favorite queso, and I like the mashed potatoes that everyone else seems to hate.

  16. I really only get Taco Deli at the airport.   Even then it’s a good breakfast at a reasonable ( for the airport ) price.

I brought my buddy in Denver a bag of Taco Deli. Got the tacos at one of the restaurants and overpaid for a container of Doña sauce at the airport, but still worth it.

This doesn’t look good. You have to do better on tortillas if you’re charging TD prices imo, those just look sad.

  19. I’m a fan. Their black beans are great, good flour tortillas, great doña sauce, consistenly reliable and available in many parts of town. Definitely solid and enjoyable, but they’re not among the best tacos in town, but also- not everything always has to be the best. Good is good

Mashed potatoes? BAD tortillas? I wouldn’t call them expensive but definitely not cheap enough to make up for those two cardinal taco sins.

I’ve hated Taco Deli for years but they’ve improved their flour tortillas so I commend them for making that change. Mashed potatoes still have no place in breakfast tacos though.
