The last two times I cooked with my crock pot, I cleaned it thoroughly and stored it dry.

Just noticed this again, and it’s definitely molding and smells bad. Looks like micro cracks in the pot that are holding moisture and creating a bad situation.

I’ve gotta toss it, huh?

Yeah this is trash. Looks like the cracks are growing mold or sometying

You put it away wet with the lid on it. It’s a little mold but it’ll clean up fine.

Do you have anyone else at home that might have put it in the dishwasher or tried to use it as a regular pot on the stove? My ex ruined our old crock pot doing both those things

It’s called crazing. The black glaze has for one reason or another cracked, exposing the raw ceramic underneath. The ceramic is porous and will be a party place of bacteria. In other words, you have to toss it. You may be able to get a replacement crock from the manufacturer or thrift shop. Or, depending on its age, you could see if it’s covered by warranty.
