The Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Sporting Club opened tonight in the space on E 7th that used to be Easy Tiger.

I dropped in for a couple drinks and watched the first half of the Packers/Eagles game, glad they had Peacock hooked up to stream for opening night. This place is more of a contained sports bar than the WTF Icehouse on W 6th. Lots of TV screens, some bar games like Pop-A-Shot, they’re building cabanas on the outside that are supposed to be ready next week.

There were some service industry folks around who tend to be the know about new places opening and stuff going on in the business.

Someone who works with Cabana Club on E 7th said they are giving away 200 NADC burgers tomorrow as a promotion for watching the UT/Michigan game there. So if you’re on the area and wanted to try NADC without the big burger spend maybe check it out.

And someone else said they’re excited for the new place moving into the old Wilder Wood Restaurant & Bar space down the street, it’ll be called The Flower Shop, new location for a joint from New York.

The WTF bar was packed around kickoff time of the game and then mellowed out towards halftime. I had a Margarita and a gin cocktail called an Augusta Fizz, they were about $14 each. Bartenders were doing a good job handling the opening rush. I’ll wait to get food another night, just stopped for some pre-dinner drinks. I will say it felt more lively than any time I had been there when it was Easy Tiger. They’re opening early on Saturday for UT/Michigan.
